A Lifestyle Move
When this young family had the opportunity to move from New York to Greenwich, CT, at the beginning of Covid, it was like a dream come true.

They were so excited to find this newly constructed home in an ideal location which the builder had actually built for himself, then decided to sell it. When Andrea Sinkin took on this project, there was very little furniture and the colour palette was very neutral.

This family loved colour and they were open to exploring their options to bring life to their new surroundings. They liked the idea of colourful prints and abstract art. (Trowbridge art was used in many key areas, often with special lighting to give it extra "pop.")

Andrea said she knew right away that this would be a fun project. She created function by adding such interesting spaces as the built-in banquette in the kitchen, which this family of 4 thoroughly enjoys. Banquettes are a favourite of Andrea's and she uses them often in homes she designs. This practical and popular addition continues to grow in popularity....as they are a great place for casual dining, morning coffee, schoolwork and much more. Banquettes are often situated near natural light, many times in their own sunlit bay window.

In the master bedroom, while designed to be calm and relaxing, Andrea used accents of colour such as the delightful aqua in the wallpaper. Natural material including wood, rattan and linens added a cosy, organic effect.

Great use of the spacious living room had plenty of space for a game area and a stylish built-in bar. A huge sectional sofa provides a gracious and inviting conversation area.

Throughout the home, each cheerful setting is arranged with an appreciation for colour and impact, as attention to detail continues to be the distinctive trademark. By all accounts, a sense of flow prevails as one room leads to another, reflecting how Andrea unifies the arts and colour and provides a fitting climax to a beautifully orchestrated project.
